About

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been pulled between two ways of living: one of adventure, wandering, and creativity—and another rooted in place and home. I dreamed of buying and remodeling my own home, having a dog by my side, while also traveling for long stretches and capturing the world through photography.

In reality, I’m still trying to find a balance between those dreams. I’m a licensed architect practicing in San Francisco, where I live with my rescue dog, Pepper, who happily joins me on long walks and road trips. I also bought and remodeled my own condo, turning it into both a home and an ongoing design project.

I started this website as a way to bring my passions together—to write about travel, share the practice of architecture, and explore the intersections of place, creativity, and adventure.

Took two days to drive back to San Francisco. The scenery in Idaho is ideal for a road trip, but crossing Nevada is a loooong stretch. I’ve passed through Twin Falls a couple times before and decided to make a longer stop to see Shoshone Falls on this trip. Turns out the waterfall flows a lot less in winter. It was easy to see, other than being about 20 minutes out of the way. Unfortunately, Pepper was terrified so we didn’t stay long. Dogs are allowed but apparently some are overwhelmed by the height and the loud sound from the falls. Anyway… it’s good to be home and planning more road trips in 2026.

An island in the middle of the Salmon River where dogs can run through the snow… and apparently swim in freezing water too. Despite the cold, Pepper insisted on being in the water.
One side of the island the water is calmer and the other is much rockier with a faster current, so I avoided that side this time. There was no way I was getting in that water!

My camera roll from the holidays is mostly videos of my dog Pepper playing in the snow. Until I get around to going through all the videos, here are some views of our winter walks in Salmon, Idaho.

I was worried about what I would do all day in cold rainy weather with a dog but it turns out there was plenty to explore outdoors for a day in Boise. Here’s a few photos from the day of exploring.

I took her on a 7 mile hike starting at Stinson Beach on the Matt Davis trail to Steep Ravine trail to Dipsea Trail. It has ocean views, Redwoods, and even a 10 foot ladder. Not pictured is the late lunch at Pelican Inn and the sunset at Muir Beach after the hike.
